BALLET
Our Artistic And Educational Ballet Classes Are Well-Loved!
It’s not surprising that many children are drawn to the grace and beauty of Ballet.
At DSi, we work to pair their initial interest with progressional skill development to inspire students to grow as far as they wish in their Ballet journey.
About Ballet
Ballet is characterized by soft, graceful, fluid movements often danced to classical instrumental music. Utilizing the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus, DSi dancers learn Classical Ballet techniques through imagination, rehearsal, muscle training and self-awareness. It is a collaborative class between the teacher and students, as the teacher supports the learning process through imagery, demonstration, correction and coaching.
Ballet is a highly technical dance form that requires dedication and practice. Ballet students of all ages work to build the required skills to move forward through a set syllabus program.

Things to Consider
PREREQUISITES:
Ballet is a dance style where we follow a specific syllabus. For this reason, starting at the Grade 3 Level (age 10+) each class has a prerequisite of the previous Grade to enroll.
Older students who are new to Ballet are able to start with Ballet Fundamentals (age 11-15) at any time.

RECITALS:
All Ballet classes participate in our in-studio Winter Presentation Week in January as well as on-stage at our Year-End Spring Showcase. This provides two performance opportunities that teach dancers how to learn and perform choreography with confidence in front of an audience!
EXAMS:
We follow the RAD Syllabus for Ballet. Class Awards/Examinations are optional and begin at the Grade 1 Level.
