Miss Sharlene Lailey | Administrative Assistant/Guest Teacher/Choreographer
…a.k.a. “Miss Shar”. I am excited to be returning for my twenty-second season with my home away from home, Dance Spectrum Inc. My love for dance began when I was 8 years old and my parents enrolled me in my very first tap class. It was love at first shuffle. Over the years I added jazz and ballet classes, but tap always remained my true passion. Over the years I competed throughout Ontario and Alberta and had the opportunity to perform in Disneyland. I have now travelled with our students to Boston, Chicago, New York, Las Vegas and Disneyland. I examined in tap and jazz, including attaining a mark of 100% on my Tap 9 Exam. As a teacher I have prepared students for exams, competitions and year-end recitals for over twenty-four years with remarkable results. I am a recognized teacher of both the Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus and ADAPT Jazz Syllabus. Being a full time Mommy of 3 little ones has taken me away from spending as much time at the studio, but I continue to work behind the scenes as the administrative assistant for DSI and I can’t wait to get into the classroom as a guest teacher this season!!
