Jocelyn Robertson I Chartered Professional Accountant
It is so hard to pick a favourite memory from my time at DSI as there are so many amazing memories, and friendships that I developed through my time spent at the studio. I have amazing memories from trips to Lethbridge, Disney Land, and Las Vegas, however, one of my favourite memories is performing my final number at my final recital. The number for our graduation group that year was “Heroes and Friends”, and it was really the most perfect song as all of us girls in the number had grown up with each other at the studio (and are still in touch 10+ years later). I remember performing and seeing Miss Wendy & all of the amazing teachers in the curtains, some of whom had known me since I was 5 years old, and who I was lucky enough to spend rehearsal time with for my numerous solos, duets, trios, and lines throughout the years. It was a very full circle moment, that makes me tear up just thinking about it!
After leaving DSI, I took a year off to travel to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. I then attended the University of British Columbia, while also participating in a part-time dance program, before transferring to Trinity Western University, where I graduated with my Bachelor of Business Administration, with a specialization in Accounting. After graduation I got married, articled at a Big 4 accounting firm, and obtained my CPA designation. We have recently been lucky enough to expand our family, and have a little girl, whom I cannot wait to sign up for dance classes at Dance Spectrum!
